Gallery Music Centre is part of the Ministry of Education’s Out-of-hours Arts and Music Programme and operates on Saturday mornings at Avalon Primary School, Lower Hutt.

Group teaching offers a valuable chance for your child to learn with others in a supportive environment, and the opportunity to enjoy music making with their peers.

Our teachers are highly qualified and dedicated professionals who strive to give your child the best music education at very low cost.  Classes are heavily subsidised by the Ministry of Education for Primary and Intermediate school aged students.

Our classes provide:

  • A parallel emphasis on instrument skill and wider musical knowledge development
  • Musicianship and ensemble skills
  • Music reading
  • Links to the New Zealand Music Curriculum
